Huntington’s disease (HD) is a genetic disorder that progressively affects an individual's behavioral, cognitive, and motor function. The “Research Basics” section describes how researchers study HD the “Research Updates” section talks about some of the discoveries that have been made, and future areas that scientists might study in the future. The “Conferences and Conventions” section contains updates from HD conventions around the world. With this improved insight, researchers throughout the world are actively investigating and testing ways to delay, stop, or reverse the course of the disease. Huntington's Outreach Project for Education at Stanford (HOPES) is a student-run project at Stanford University with the goal of making information about Huntington’s Disease (HD) more accessible to audiences worldwide.
